Species
A growing set of native and exotic species.
Wildwatch identifies the wildlife your cameras capture across a set of species that grows as we verify each one. When a frame falls outside that set, or the evidence is too thin, the system abstains and keeps the image rather than guess.
Different capabilities, different stages
What "supported" means, made specific.
Recognizing a species, telling its sex, scoring it, and measuring it are separate problems. We keep them separate on purpose.
Recognition
Detects animals and identifies the species across a growing native and exotic set.
Sex classification
Reports sex when the image supports it, with confidence. It is image-dependent and abstains often rather than overcommit.
Whitetail scoring
Eligible whitetail frames are scored with confidence, as decision support. See Scoring.
Exotic measurement & scoring
Broader measurement and scoring for other species is being developed and validated before release.
Automatic re-identification
Recognizing the same individual animal across cameras and seasons, automatically, is in development. Today you can confirm individuals manually.
Honest by default
Not every species. Not every frame. And we say so.
A growing supported set is not "any species." When Wildwatch is outside its range or unsure, it labels the result Needs review or abstains and keeps the image in your record — so the record stays trustworthy.
- The supported set grows as species are verified, not claimed
- Sex and score are separate calls with their own confidence
- Abstention is a feature: a kept image beats a wrong label
- Your corrections refine the record you rely on
