Every image is analyzed by Wildwatch's detection engine. It identifies the animal, draws a bounding box, and assigns a confidence score. Only images that meet the confidence threshold (70%+) advance to enrichment.

Trust Model
Most platforms hide their AI behind a black box. Wildwatch tells you exactly what it knows, how confident it is, and where it drew the line between observation and inference.
Every AI determination — species, sex, maturity, score — is visible in the interface alongside the source image. Nothing is silently assumed.
Green (90%+), Yellow (70-89%), Red (<70%). Applied to every enrichment field individually, not just the overall result. You see exactly where the AI is certain and where it hedged.
Override any AI determination. Your corrections are first-class signals that improve the record — and future suggestions. The AI assists; you decide.
Confidence Scoring
Every enrichment field is individually scored. A single sighting might have high-confidence species identification but low-confidence score estimation — and Wildwatch shows you both.
The AI's determination is well-supported by image quality, visible features, and species-specific indicators. Reliable for reporting and decision-making.
Plausible determination but limited by image angle, distance, or partial occlusion. Useful as a signal, worth verifying before acting on it.
Insufficient visual evidence for a reliable determination. The field is flagged, not estimated. Review the image and apply your own judgment.
